Nā Maka Onaona
Too See with the Eyes of Our Ancestors
Nā Maka Onaona translates to more than just alluring eyes. It is a poetic reference to a dear friend, someone who softens your gaze with aloha when you look upon them. This is the same lens that we view our ʻāina, with deep aloha and familiarity. These are the eyes of our kupa ʻāina, the eyes of the people who are intimately familiar with their land.
